Knapford Sheds is an engine shed situated in Knapford Yards.
History
Knapford Sheds was likely constructed during the rebuilding of the Ffarquhar Branch Line that occurred in 1956. When the shed was first built, it only had two berths located at the end of a short siding, slightly north of the station. A few years later, the shed was rebuilt with more berths for the increasing number of engines on the railway that had no confirmed home.
Appearance
Knapford Sheds is a large eight-berth shed, with a smaller maintenance shed located alongside. It also consists of a repair shed and a foundry, where Bulgy was repaired and later converted into a vegetable stand on wheels.
